Aperture. Cardiff’s premier drum and bass night 2005–2017. This site gathers what survives of its posters, flyers and promo artwork in one place.

Posters and flyers are temporary things. The earliest shows were promoted with tape, blu-tac and paste. Much of the digital record is lost to dead computers and dead links. What remains is collected here.

Aperture was founded in 2005 by Dave Shaw, and named after the Apple photo software launched that year to take on Adobe. Around 2011 Dave gave the night to Dan, who ran it for five more years before passing it on again; it came to an end in 2017. The night was always given, never sold.

More than a club night, the Aperture family meant so much to so many people; this archive exists so the record of it isn’t lost too. Dave has written his own account of those years: the story and the night was never mine.
